In the second series of Meet the Team Behind the Scenes, we’ll be getting to know Junior Project Manager, Grant Harrison. Grant is known for his infectious and vibrant personality, always smiling and for having an excellent reputation with clients. We’ll be getting to know a little more about Grant, his role within IMA and what he likes to do in his spare time.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Grant Harrison, I’m 22 years old, and I’ve worked for IMA for seven years. If you haven’t already guessed by the name, I am the son and brother of Managing Director Stephen and Operations Director Martin Harrison. There is some sibling rivalry between myself and Stephen, but everyone knows that I’m the smartest of the two of us, and the most handsome.
What’s, do you enjoy most about working at IMA?
My favourite thing about working at IMA is creating a rapport with clients. There’s nothing more rewarding than finishing a job and receiving positive feedback from the client or the onsite Project Manager. Whether I’m on site or in the office, I always like to revisit my clients to make sure their event went well. I work on every job to the best of my ability and do my best to keep my team motivated, mostly by cracking jokes and trying to make everyone laugh.
What are your future goals?
One of my future goals is to travel around the world. I have a trip booked in July to travel around China for one month. I’m excited about this trip because my girlfriend’s sister whom I will be going with works over there as a school teacher, she has excellent knowledge about the country, so she will take us to see all the sights but mostly excited to visit a panda sanctuary!
Where would you like to be in five years?
I have worked with IMA for seven years, and throughout that time I have worked in several different roles starting as a Warehouse Operative, then working as Project Support for six months and now I am a Junior Project Manager. In five years, I would like to see myself excelling within IMA and either being a Senior Project Manager or Head of Projects. Both roles would give me great responsibility of projects and a team both in the office and onsite, it would also allow me to work closely with new and existing clients which is something I relish every day at IMA.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m a huge lover of animals and enjoy being around all types including my family dogs. I recently brought a rabbit named fudge and will be building a chicken coop and looking after chickens in my spare time. The carpentry skills I’ve learnt over the last seven years in the IMA workshop will certainly come in handy, whipping up a home for the chickens will be a breeze, and it won’t be an ordinary chicken coop, a manor will be better suited.
